Changelog
Notable user-facing changes are recorded here. txtop follows semantic versioning from the 1.0 release onward.
1.0.0 - 2026-08-10
Added
- Keyboard-first Dashboard, Chart, Config, Live, and Focus views for LLM usage, cost, limits, and active coding-agent sessions.
- Provider API collection for OpenAI, Anthropic, and OpenRouter, with failures isolated per provider.
- Local usage ingestion for Codex, Claude Code, and Gemini CLI.
- Optional live-limit checks for Codex and Claude Code, with explicit auth gates and in-app status.
- Experimental OTLP/HTTP ingestion and an Ollama-compatible recording proxy.
- Local SQLite storage, diagnostics, invariant checks, repair commands, and redacted debug bundles.
- A collector that starts with the TUI when needed, remains alive while any TUI
is open, inherits the starting TUI’s effective configuration, and can be
promoted to a persistent service with
txtop up. - Config-file, environment-variable, and CLI configuration with documented precedence and in-app persistence.
Distribution
- crates.io installation with
cargo install txtop --locked. - Versioned GitHub release archives for Linux (static musl), macOS, and Windows on x86-64 and ARM64, with SHA-256 checksums.
Compatibility notes
- Live subscription limits depend on undocumented provider endpoints and are disabled by default.
- The Live process tree requires Linux
/proc; the panel reports unsupported on macOS and Windows. - OTLP ingestion and the Ollama proxy are experimental in 1.0.
- The minimum supported Rust version is 1.88.
